This week we are highlighting the debut of Angela Aguilar and the rise of Yung Gravy on our Trendsetters chart!
LATIN GRAMMY NOMINEE DEBUTS
For rising Mexican singer Angela Aguilar, fame is in her blood: She's not only part of a musical family, but a musical dynasty, “La Dinastía Aguilar." (Her father is singer Pepe Aguilar.) The 15-year old, who sings mariachi and ranchero music, has been on the come-up since releasing her debut solo album, Primero Soy Mexicana. The album earned her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, and Augilar saw a serious spoke in activity after the Nov. 15 show. This week compared to last week, the singer saw a 113% increase in artist station adds on Pandora, allowing for a strong Trendsetters debut in the top 5.
JUST IN TIME FOR TURKEY DAY
Is there a Trendsetter more suitable for Turkey Day than Yung Gravy? Well, considering the rising rapper's rather explicit lyrics, he may be more of a Friendsgiving guy. Either way, it's been a good week for Gravy as he gears up for the release of his debut album this winter. He climbs up three spots this week after seeing close to 2,000 artist station adds on Pandora.
